My research focuses on the functional screening of metagenomic libraries for enzymes that affect lignocellulose transformations. By studying the enzymes revealed by these screens I hope to gain further insight into carbon cycling in specific environments and to unearth enzymes that can act as effective biocatalysts in industrially relevant methods.
